Spec Studies Test Products' Perceived Quality

3DCS Perceived Quality Intro Part 1

Perceived Quality Definition - A consumer's opinion of a product's ability to fulfill his or her expectations.

Perceived quality is a critical element of the product development life cycle.

Having the ability to assess dimensional build specifications, or customers “Perceived Quality” of fit and finish characteristics, in the digital concept design phase with advanced photo-realistic visualization offers manufacturing companies a way to test product quality before the costly investment in tooling begins.

Making a virtual assessment of the fit and finish assembly requirements offers design studios, advanced product quality planning, and even design engineers a way of defining, analyzing and modifying dimensional product.

Spec Study: Visual Quality Scenarios

Definition

A Spec Study is a function of 3DCS Variation Analysis software that shows the visual specifications of a product using a photo realistic virtual prototype.

Spec Studies are set up in 3DCS using specific tolerance objectives, giving the user an understanding of how those set conditions will affect the appearance of the product. Oftentimes used for gaps, flush conditions, buttons, dials, accessories and interiors, Spec Studies let you balance your manufacturing capability with your design aesthetics.

Benefits of High End Visualization and 3D CAD

3DCS Spec Studies apply advanced photo-realistic rendering along with part and assembly variation, showing the effects of variation on a virtual product. This allows collaboration amongst styling, management, design studio, and engineering to cost effectively establish dimensional requirements that will allow your designs to meet quality requirements while reducing expensive manufacturing costs.

3DCS Perceived Quality applies Advanced Photo Realistic rendering along with part and assembly variation and deviation, allowing visual collaboration amongst styling, management, design studio, and engineering to cost effectively establish dimensional requirements that will allow your designs to meet market quality perspectives.
