ReliaTrain was formed to support companies and their suppliers in developing a process to improve their Quality, Reliability and Durability of their products and processes. 

 

ReliaTrain provides training and mentoring in all reliability methods and technology, such as: DFSS, FMEA, DFM, DFA, tolerance analysis, weibull++ and DRBFM (GD³). 

 

During my General Motors experience as the global process lead for FMEA and DRBFM, I had the opportunity to work with multiple suppliers.  I also had the opportunity to train our global engineering centers in Australia, Mexico and Canada, as well as the vehicle and powertrain engineering centers in the US.  This experience has enabled me to work with 1000�s of engineers and understand their opinion of what is the strength and weakness of these methodologies. 

While at GM, I was mentored by Tatsuhiko Yoshimura in his GD³ philosophy, which includes DRBFM and DRBTR.  He identified me as an expert in his methodologies and has approved my use of his training material and name as reference (see letter of recommendation).   Only experience sitting through reviews with Tatsuhiko Yoshimura can provide the expert knowledge of his process.  My understanding of his methodology allowed me to provide ideas for improvements.  There must be an understanding of the complete GD³ methodology in order to implement any one part, DRBFM or DRBTR.  In most cases, it is not something that can be absorbed by simply reading his printed material.

With over 33 years experience in manufacturing and engineering at

General Motors, my jobs included:

• Production, skilled trades, engineering technician, prototype

• Build engineer launch manager for products launched at Buick City and Orion

• Worked on plant staff, as planning administrator, for the launch of the 1997 Park Avenue and annual pilots (2 years)

• Became a Master DFM/A engineer and supervised the DFM engineers in Flint MI

• FMEA process lead and supervised the DFMEA group

• Identified to help Tatsuhiko Yoshimura implement his GD3 methodology throughout General Motors globally

• Granted Black Belt status, by Tatsuhiko Yoshimura, in GD3 after training multiple DRBFM green belts and rigorous reviews
